Redland City Events & I

I have lived in Redland City for many years, and really love the area. I used to own and run 'Our Redlands' and 'Whats On Redlands'. I stopped these businesses for a few reasons, mainly because I am now a dad to two boys and being a stay at home dad takes some serious time.
I do love the area still, so thought I would create this page dedicated to events and activities in the local Redlands Area.

Asleep At The Reel + Blackboard Session at Folk Redlands

Redland City Event - Asleep At The Reel + Blackboard Session at Folk Redlands
Tallowwood Room, Indigiscapes
17 Runnymede Rd,
Capalaba
Sunday, 18 November 2018, 1 – 4pm

Free Concert & Blackboard Session.

Feature Act, Asleep At The Reel, perform Celtic music with Australian heart.

Evocative of a lively Irish Pub, their storytelling songs feature flying fiddles, rich harmonies, rollicking jigs and reels to keep your feet tapping.  The Irish call it the craic, meaning  music and fun and, typically, quite a lot of the demon drink all bound up together.

A wonderful band of Australian musicians with Celtic music in their DNA- Mark Cryle: guitar & vocals, Rose Broe: accordion & vocals, Mick Nolan: bass & vocals, Hugh Curtis: fiddle & mandolin, Suzanne Hibbs: drums & percussion.

The afternoon will commence with 2 hour Blackboard Session. Walk-in Performers are invited to perform 15-20 minute spots on a first-in basis.

“Regard man as a mine rich in gems of inestimable value. Education can, alone, cause it to reveal its treasures, and enable mankind to benefit there from.” — Bahá’í Writings

These “gems” are the spiritual qualities that are latent in the soul of every person.

Our neighbourhood children’s classes help  children to discover and polish these gems from an early age and apply what they learn to everyday life.

We use songs, co-operative games and craft to reinforce these spiritual qualities.

All welcome.
